At our December Home Fashion Workshop, we taught you how to give your home a 5-minute makeover using the F.LA.I.R. technique. Did you miss it? No worries. We’ll give you a recap on how to incorporate an accent color into our foolproof approach.
Let’s set the scene. You walk into a home décor store and you feel overwhelmed. So many different colors of pillows, fabrics, and accessories to choose from. And now you’re wondering, “When decorating with an accent color, do all items need to be the same shade?” And the answer is simple: No. You can definitely mix it up, especially if it’s the only color in the space. Cover the spectrum with at least three different shades of one color.
Use a neutral sofa to your advantage and declare an accent color with your pillows. Introducing pillows with different patterns, but with a common color scheme, will redo the look of your space in no time!
The final step to achieving that 5-minute makeover is to make it “you!” Remember to think about what you truly need in the space. Pops of color will liven up a neutral color scheme and make your room look intriguing.
This is post 1 of 2 about our Home Fashion Workshop. Check back on December 11 for our next post!
