We enjoyed another Inspiration Session this past Saturday! Some of us got together in the store to chat about ways to incorporate coastal design elements no matter where we live. We discovered that the possibilities are as great as the ocean is wide. You don’t have to be an ocean-side dweller to delight in coastal beauty inside your home. It’s easy to make a splash with aquatic accents. Here are some ideas we borrowed from mother nature:
- From under the sea – Coral is naturally unique, so it’s great for a one-of-a-kind touch to any living room. You can display a piece of authentic coral for it’s natural texture or use seaweed prints to punch up the color. “Coralating” concepts offer plenty of room to be creative.
- Drifting from sea to land – Using driftwood is another way to display natural beauty. Try accessories such as driftwood bowls and wood lamps to highlight natural wood grains. It will help keep your coastal design current.
- Washed out, but not washed up – Furniture with washed out finishes bring a relaxed look to any space. It’s reminiscent of a beach house with an eclectic mix of lovingly used furniture that has been with a family for generations. The look of the furniture may be distressed, but the beach ambiance is definitely no stress.

Check back tomorrow for more coastal design inspiration. Our next Inspiration Session is on June 16.
