If your walls could talk, would they speak French? We thought so. Nothing goes together better than French and romance. And if you’re already inspired by both, you’re about to be one step closer to creating your dream sleeping space. Here are some French-inspired design tips that’ll make you fall in love with your bedroom.
Be a material girl – Select bedding made from natural materials and linen-like fabrics. Even the upholstery on your chair or ottoman should reflect the clean palette of natural materials. Go for something like the traditional damask design and the crisp box-pleated bed skirt. They leave room for plenty of romance and display their beauty without competing with yours.
Age like French women – You know how French women seem to be forever young? Well, here’s the secret – get plenty of sleep in a room where all the furniture is aged more than you. Don’t worry if you don’t have antiques. Just fill your bedroom with furniture that has hand-created distressed marks or a French-waxed finish. You can include weathered finds such as an old door or lattice to add to the vintage look.
Make room for romance – All you need is a little romance here and there. Bring in a dramatic iron candelabra and a floral arrangement for a romantic touch. Want double the romance? Wall mirrors and mirrored trays reflect the romantic details and create twice the glamour. So, what are you waiting for? Your romantic boudoir is waiting. Au revoir!
