Get out those energy-efficient light bulbs and munch on some organic granola; it’s Earth Day!
In addition to upping your green efforts and conserving your natural resources to celebrate, why not bring some of earth’s beauty inside to spruce up your space? Here are some tips for utilizing what you can easily find outside to make your home even more beautiful inside.
Coral/shells
Bring home your dream coastal destination. Coral is the “it” color this year and so is coral itself! For a seafaring tone, place white coral in a wooden bowl or on a mirrored tray on your cocktail table. To achieve a clean look, arrange white coral with other white accessories in a bowl. Place shells you found on past beach trips in a glass bowl on the cocktail table. To add an elegant coastal feel, hang black and white prints of the sea-dwelling décor. Wood
Add warmth to your space by bringing in wooden accents. Decorate with wood shelves, carvings and driftwood. Arrange birch twigs and branches in your living room for some outside elegance.
Plants
Introduce color and texture to your home by adding more plants. Plants not only fill out a space but they also improve air quality. Make your plants look their best by placing them in decorative pots.
Stones and water
Set a peaceful mood by incorporating both water and stones in your home. Fill a vase with water and stones or even floating flowers. You can also leave out the water and just display smooth-finished stones in a clear vase with willow branches for an interesting touch.
What do you do to “go green?”
